Company Overview

Verint Systems was founded in Israel in 1994 as a subsidiary of Comverse Technology, originally focused on lawful communications interception for intelligence and law enforcement agencies. The company expanded into video surveillance analytics, situation intelligence, and cyber intelligence before pivoting toward commercial customer engagement AI.

In 2021, Verint spun off its security intelligence business as Cognyte Software (NASDAQ: CGNT), while retaining its customer engagement platform. Before the spinoff, Verint's security division provided signals intelligence, cyber intelligence, and surveillance platforms to defense and intelligence agencies in over 100 countries. The company was taken private by Thoma Bravo in 2025.

Dual-use relevance is very high: Verint's analytics technology serves government intelligence and defense while enabling commercial customer experience automation.
