Rail Vision

Rail Vision is a Ra'anana, Israel-based company founded in 2015 that develops AI-powered vision sensor technology for the railway industry. The company's systems combine electro-optical sensors (visible and thermal cameras) with deep learning algorithms to provide real-time obstacle detection, classification, and alerting at ranges up to 2 kilometers ahead of moving trains.

Rail Vision has raised venture capital and is publicly traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The company's technology has been tested and deployed by major railway operators globally, providing automated detection of people, vehicles, animals, and track obstructions in all weather and lighting conditions.

Dual-use relevance is significant: the core technology of long-range electro-optical sensing combined with AI classification is directly applicable to military applications including railway logistics protection (critical military supply line security), perimeter surveillance for military bases and borders, autonomous ground vehicle sensing for military platforms, convoy protection systems, and critical infrastructure monitoring. The ability to detect and classify threats at 2km range in all conditions is a capability with immediate military utility.
