ECI Telecom Ltd is an Israeli telecommunications equipment company founded in 1961 as the Electronics Corporation of Israel, headquartered in Petah Tikva. The company provides packet optical transport products, software-defined networking applications, cybersecurity, and professional services for carriers, service providers, and government/defense entities.
ECI serves defense organizations with secure, high-capacity networking infrastructure for military communications, intelligence networks, and critical government systems. The company had its first NASDAQ listing in 1982 and was taken private in 2007 by the Swarth Group.
In November 2019, Ribbon Communications acquired ECI Telecom for $486 million, combining ECI's Israeli defense networking expertise with Ribbon's communications platform. ECI had over 3,000 employees with offices in 20+ countries and R&D centers in Israel, India, and China.
